How to Achieve the Perfect Room

Hiya! You probably already know that those beautiful, perfect rooms that you see on Pinterest aren't exactly reality. Most teenagers have messy rooms that wouldn't be considered perfect by any means. However, here's how you can achieve what you see online.

1. Clean Your Room!

First, pick up any trash that you have lying around. Tidy up your room, like make your bed, put your books away, etc. You can worry about vacuuming and deep cleaning later.

Next, start choosing what to throw away or donate. You should only keep things that you enjoy or that have sentimental value. With clothes, however, you should get rid of anything that you haven't worn in the past 6 months. You probably aren't going to wear it ever again, and thus, in the trash it goes.

Once you have the unnecessary stuff gone, now is the time to deep clean your room! Vacuum the floor, scrub the walls, dust the shelves, and wipe the windows. If you don't plan on buying new sheets, wash them! The key to a great room is cleanliness.

2. Start Planning Your Room

Do you want a new bedspread? How about a fresh new coat of paint on your walls? This is what you'll start thinking about in phase 2.

Look up color schemes for your room online. Find something that fits you and gives you the vibe you want your room to have. Do you want rustic or modern? Carpets or wood floors? The color scheme of your room depends on your room's style, so choose wisely. Talk about it with some friends for some more input.

When you finally decide what you want, make an Amazon shopping list of any new furniture or bedroom supplies you want. Have your parents buy them for you, and try to chip in on the payment. After all, it's your room!

3. Decorating Your Room + Finishing Touches

Make sure to empty your room out before you replace everything, obviously. When it's empty, take this time to paint the walls and do the floors. Once your room stuff arrives, take a day to assemble it all and get your room designed the way you want it.

Go to the store and find some cute accessories for your room. LED lights make your room look trendy and modern, while fairy lights make your room look charming and elegant. A plant pot always makes a nice addition in the corner, or how about a painting? Again, look up ideas for decorations.

Since I love art, I'd have lots of space for art supplies on my desk. If you do sports, you should opt for a trophy/medal rack. If you have a pet, you might want a pet bed in your room.

Once you're done, light a candle or spray air freshener in your room to make it smell great! It has to smell good AND look good.

Anyways, I hope you enjoyed this post as much as you enjoy your new room!

Happy 4th of July!

Happy 4th of July! I hope everyone is doing well and still social distancing. I'm working on a giant house in Bloxburg so I'll be sure to host many parties when I'm done!
